Update on Dog Fouling on the Cambridge Estate

Below is the reply from Gavin Jarrett – Dog Warden/Technical Enforcement Officer, Highways & Environmental Enforcement Team at Leeds City Council (Tel: 0113 3951765)

Dear Councillor,

Thank you for your service request dated 5th December 2011.

Our service are currently monitoring Cambridge Street, Otley and the surrounding area for dog related offences.

Should your constituent have any details of the person/people responsible, i.e. home address or car registration plate and they are prepared to provide our service with an independent witness statement, I will be more than happy to investigate the matter further with the evidence provided. The witness statement is sufficient evidence for our service to issue a Fixed Penalty Notice for the dog fouling offence committed. Our service require approximate dates/times for dog fouling offences which have been seen by the general public. The witness must also be prepared to attend court and give evidence (if required to do so by the courts) should the Fixed Penalty Notice not be paid in full.
