Quite a few residents from Otley and Yeadon have written to me with regards the ‘Space for Cycling’ campaign. Here is an upcoming event in support of that campaign.

Join us in riding for Space for Cycling!
It’s less than a week until our second Space for Cycling ride on Saturday 6th Dec. We are meeting at Victoria Gardens at 12pm with the ride setting off shortly after. The current forecast is cold, but clear and sunny!
Leeds Cycling Campaign are once again calling on local and national government to make cycling safe and inviting for everyone, regardless of age or ability. Our latest Big Bike Ride, “Magical Leeds at Christmas” starts on Saturday 6th December at 12pm, meeting in Victoria Gardens in the city centre.
Everyone is welcome to take part and we encourage you to ‘bling up’ your bikes with tinsel and dress in your best Christmas jumpers. There will be lead rides from several communities in Leeds that will get you to Victoria Gardens for 12pm. Click here for more information and a map of the start points.
Experienced marshals will be on hand throughout the short circuit of the city centre and the ride will be followed by a ‘cycling cashmob’, where riders are encouraged to do their Christmas shopping while making clear to local shopkeepers that they arrived by bike.
Even if you cannot make it please share the Facebook event amongst your friends and on social media using the #space4cycling hashtag. We also have lots of postcards to advertise the event, so please email us if you are able to distribute and we will drop some off to you.
Also, if you have not done so yet please write to your Councillors asking for Space for Cycling at www.space4cycling.org.uk
We really hope to see lots of you on Saturday!
